Welcome to GP, Lucknow

Government Polytechnic Lucknow was founded in 1892 and came under the Technical Education of Uttar Pradesh in India. The institute was initially established as an Industrial School for railway employees. It was renamed as Government Technical Institute (GTI) in 1911. In 1961, the institute's name changed again to its present name Government Polytechnic Lucknow (GPL) and shifted to its current location. The institute is presently located at Faizabad Road, Polytechnic Chauraha which is 12 km away from the Lucknow Junction Railway Station. It is affiliated with the Board of Technical Education Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (BTEUP). GPL is affiliated with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is among the top 10 government polytechnic college in Lucknow.

Library

The college has multi storey library building equipped with a large collection of books. The college library has reading room, RO water , Computer and xerox facilities. There is more than 70,000 books.

Language Lab

We have built a fully functional language lab, which is very much helpful in the personality development of the students in speaking & learning various languages.

Smart Class

We have provided smart classes so that students could learn more effectively.

Sports Facilities

College has very dedicated sports cell, equipped with all facilities and infrastructure, to provide best experiences outside of the class.

Gymnasium

We have built a gym which has various workout station so that studnents could relax properly and adopt active lifestyle

Wifi Campus

The campus is fully wifi covered, students can login as guest or get authentic password to use the facility in the college premises.

Advanced Labs

The college has dedicated labs of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology , Computer, Language and counting.

We have 8 massive hostels which are fully equipped with facilities and also the best part is that these are one of most secured hostels in town.

Our FEATURE LIST

Government Polytechnic Lucknow offers Diploma courses at the 10+ level, undergraduate level, and postgraduate level. The courses are offered in streams like architectural assistantship, civil engineering, information technology, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, and, mechanical engineering. The duration of the courses is mostly 3 years. However, some courses are also for a duration of 1 and 2 years.
